Watch Wais P & Statik Selektah’s “You Never Know” Video

Brooklyn’s Wais P is teaming up with producer Statik Selektah for a collaborative album titled Chinchilla, which is due out this fall. To continue the LP’s rollout, the duo is premiering their video for the lead single “You Never Know” featuring Haile Supreme on HipHopDX.

“The track is pivotal in the release structure of this project ’cause it symbolizes my release from prison and the uncertainty of your freedom and the blessings that holds,” Wais tells DX. “I’m lucky to have the amazing otherworldly production from Statik Selektah and A&R direction from Termanology.”

He adds, “Filming the video was important. Thanks to [director] Nyj the Official because I wanted it to be gritty and have a distressed feel. I did not want it to be clean, I wanted that dirty just coming home feel and ready to give the people bars and be competitive and have them be waiting for what’s next from me.”
